AFCEA Marianas Chapter opportunities for teachers of Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM)

SCIENCE TEACHING TOOLS

This program is a joint effort between AFCEA Marianas Chapter and AFCEA National Educational Foundation to promote effective science teaching and to enhance the abilities of capable STEM teachers in K-12 schools worldwide.

Our AFCEA Marianas Chapter will award at least one $1,000 grant, and if possible, additional grants to deserving elementary, middle or high school STEM teachers to purchase consumable supplies or equipment that would augment science, information technology, engineering or mathematics activities in the classroom.

How to apply for this Grant Award:

1.  Apply by submitting no more than 1-page email or Word document outlining your educational focus, program goals, and how an AFCEA grant would assist you in meeting your student’s needs and how their STEM educational experience would be improved.

2.  Applications must be received by 18 April 2012. If selected, your award will be presented at our annual TechNet Conference the last week of April.

3.  Awards are made to individual teachers (not schools or school districts).

4.  We do ask in advance that any and all award winners provide an update within 6-months on how the Grant impacted your students. Information such as:

*  Consumable supplies purchased

*  Number of students impacted

*  Number of Courses/Grade level(s) included

If you could also provide any pictures capturing the impact it would help us in securing additional funds for future grants.
